Parking near beach

Hi, driving down to Bournemouth for the day with mum at the weekend, what is the best car parks or parking for choice of spaces (prob limited at popular times) but most important that doesn't encounter a long or hilly walk to the car, for mum,,

preferably quieter end of the beach.

In Bournemouth itself, the closest car parks to the Pier are Bath Road South and The BIC. The latter is multi-storey, the former open plan. Both will involved walking down a slight incline for a few hundred yards to get to the beach.

I think a better option would be one of the Chines farther west. For ease of access, Branksome Chine is best; if you bag one of the spots at the front of the car park, you're literally 20 feet from the sand and there are benches in front of you, toilets close by, and a restaurant and a cafe too. The most accessible spots have disabled restrictions.

Failing that, Alum Chine is a little farther to walk from car park to beach and doesn't have the amenities, but is less crowded. Both are at what I'd call a quieter end of the beach, although about 2 miles from the centre of town.

Fwiw I was at Branksome Chine this morning at 11.30 on a warm, sunny day. It was moderately busy but there were plenty of parking spaces available.

Both Chines are close to Westbourne, which has some good places to eat (Chez Fred fish and chips is superb), nice tea-rooms, and a lot of independent shops. If your mum has mobility issues, Bournemouth is quite hilly and the shops are some distance from the beach.

If you go a little further west, there is easy access from the car park at Sandbanks on to the paved beachfront footpath.
