Car parking near BIC

We are going to a concert at BIC next Saturday night, driving down from Newbury. We have been told that the BIC Car park fills up really early, which will be a problem for us. Any suggestions about where to park near by?

Thanks, Fang

The situation with the BIC car park varies. On a sunny day, more people are in town and it is likely to be busier. If concert-goers are staying in a nearby hotel, then they don't have use for a car park.

It is often leaving the car park after the show that can be more problematic as it can take some time to get out with so many people trying to leave at once! There are at least 4 car parks within easy walking distance to the BIC.

There is one in front of the Pavilion Theatre on Westover Road - this can be busy if there is a show at that theatre too. There are car parks on either side of Bath Road - these are located between the Royal Bath Hotel and Bournemouth pier.

Past the BIC building, getting nearer to town, there is a single level car park just across to the right of the BIC - I think this would be on Priory Road. There are also car parks on either side of Exeter Crescent - this is located down the side of a nearby pub - '60 Miliion Postcards'.

This has some useful information if you are visiting the BIC and Bournemouth area including some details on the BIC car park -
