Family History in Brighton

Can anyone point me in the direction of a family history centre please. Will have all of Friday to search for any information about my ancestors who lived in Ringmer at the begining of the 1800s. Will need parish records of Ringmer. Will be getting bus out to the village. Looking for old directories of the area etc too. Thanks!

First off, Ringmer is not part of Brighton. It falls within Lewes District Councils jurisdiction.

Your first point of contact tho should be Ringmer Parish Council, then Lewes District Council.

Might also be worth contacting the Brighton (Jubilee) Library for ideas on historical records.
