Your journey will be affected by weekend engineering work whichever station you use, Manningtree or Colchester.

What I’m saying is at Manningtree you still need to get to Dedham 4 miles away, there may be fewer options at that station.

This is how they have arranged the rail replacement; train Liverpool Street to Billericay, replacement bus to Witham, then pick up the main line again.

I would also recommend going to Colchester Station, there are many taxis at Colchester station and the fare to Dedham is approximately £15 on a Saturday. As a Colchester taxi driver we take many people into Dedham and even people who live near Manningtree, often get off in Colchester and get a taxi because of the unreliability of the taxi service from the station at Manningtree.
