We will be in the Cotswolds for 2 weeks in September. As we will be there two weeks we will have time to visit outside the area. Any suggestions for cities/sites to visit within a couple of hours driving time?
Try looking at a map in conjunction with a good guide and work out what is do-able. Stratford-upon-Avon with all its Shakespeare connections is not within the Cotswolds AONB but is an easy drive, likewise Warwick and nearby Kenilworth which has a rather impressive ruined castle with a revived Elizabethan garden.
Worcester has a fabulous cathedral and a museum of Worcester porcelain (under refurbishment at present but due to re-open in May).
Oxford is also easily reachd by car or train depending on where you are staying, and you have Blenheim Palace in the village of Woodstock. Further north there is Ludlow. To the north is the city of Birmingham, to the south the rather more attractive city of Bristol.Edited: 27 March 2018, 01:15
