My 21 year old daughter will be in London for 4 days the end of this month. She really wants to see part of the countryside rather than spend the entire time in the city. What is the most efficient way to get to the Cotswolds? She can not spend the night as she will be part of a college tour group. She can break from the group on a free day when others might be taking the only offered excursion which is to Stonehedge and Oxford.
What town makes the most sense where she might be able to walk around from the train or pick up a tour/car service easily? Is there anything to see during the train ride? She can not take a tour out of London because every one I found starts at 10 hours. She probably can get away for 6-8.
Whatever she sees will be more than nothing, even though this plan is not ideal. Any advice will be much appreciated!!
