Pub with Accommodation

Can anybody recommend a cosy pub with Accommodation in the New Forest prefrably with Restaurant or with one in walking distance. It is for someones Birthday so would like it to be rather nice. We would also like to be near to some nice walks so rather in the forest as opposed to a busy town. Many Thanks

In the absence of any other suggestions how about Montagu Arms Hotel in Beaulieu, never stayed there but it has good reviews on TA.

Pilgrim Inn in Marchwood? This is not in the middle of the wilds. It has a main road along side the car park. However they do excellent local food and the accommodation is highly rated on trip advisor (this is kind of my local so I have never stayed there). Thatched roof. V.cute.

Hi,

How about 'The Pig in the Forest' near Brockenhurst. Old hunting lodge with rooms, great food and roaring log fires.

I second The Pig, fabulous location for walking straight from the door onto The Forest. Hotel is lovely and the food is delicious.
