Travel from Southampton to Bath

We are arriving in Southampton on a cruise ship, and then are traveling to Bath. We were planning on traveling by train. Is the train depot easily accessible from the port via taxi? Should we purchase our ticket before arriving in England? Any help is appreciated.

The port is only a mile and a half from the central station in Southampton. A taxi will be fine to get you to the station. Once at the train station you will be able to get the tickets you require to Bath. There is no need to get the tickets before yoou travel.

There's no need to purchase your ticket in advance, but you could make a considerable saving if you were able to do so.

Unfortunately there is no fast ticket machine at Southampton, so you've no way of getting your ticket.
