Ask also on Cruise Critic: www.cruisecritic.co.uk

There is a National Express coach from Southampton at 06.00 (arrives Heathrow 08.10), but you would have t make your own way from the ship to the coach terminal.

The other alternatives would be a transfer organised by the Cruise Company (is there one? Have you checked?) or a self-organised car service.

I don't think you have much choice as few of the option would enable you to reach Heathrow in time for your flight.

So - when WILL you get off the ship (not when does the ship dock or when disembarking start but when YOU personally will be able to leave the ship)

How many in your party - the answer for one person is going to be totally different from if you are a group of eight or more.

What is the date of your arrival?

What terminal is your flight using?

Have you checked what the cruise company is offering? If so, how much will it cost you?

Do note that unless you use a private hire vehicle that it's unlikely your travel time will be less than two hours, some routings will be nearer three as they aren't direct, so in order to catch a midday flight you need to leave Southampton by around 8:00am - or even earlier.

Thanks you for your prompt reply. The Grand Princess arrives at 630 am so that early coach is out for us. Princess will not give us a transfer because of the early flight.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your quick reply. Princess informs use we can depart around 8am. We cannot use the ships transfer because of our early flight time. There are 2 in our party. Grand Princess arrives at the Ocean port on 7/7/12 at 630 am. Will have to research the terminal used for United International flights.

Thanks for your help I know we are on a tight schedule. Hoping to get off the ship before 8am but will have to see what happens.

Best regars,

Cheapest? Jeez, you have an international flight to catch, very little time, you spent several thousand dollars on the cruise and airfares, use a reputable southampton taxi service instead of messing around trying to nickel and dime the transport and perhaps have to purchase an additional several thousand dollars worth of air fares.

There are plenty of taxi companies mentioned in this forum (just search for "Heathrow") , contact a few for quotes. I'd expect a taxi to run about £120 give or take £20. I wouldnt pick the cheapest one.

The 8.30 train, changing at Woking on to the Railair coach, arrives terminal 1 at 10.25 - if the traffic on the M25 is behaving itself - and will be £30 each. 90 minutes checkin is getting a bit tight for a US bound flight so you will be much better with a prebooked taxi, sitting on the dockside at 8 and waiting for you to get off the ship.

You need to make arrangements with the cruise company to get off the ship first! We didn't leave our ship until about 10.30 am as we were all given different times to disembark.

I would opt for a good taxi form. Hope it is on a Saturday as the M3 north bound is horrendous on working days.

08:00 SOUTHAMPTON (Coach Station) HEATHROW AIRPORT LONDON (for T1 and T3) 10:05 2h 05m 0 £34.40

09:45 SOUTHAMPTON (Coach Station) HEATHROW AIRPORT LONDON (for T1 and T3) 11:50 2h 05m 0 £34.40

Neither coach looks practical unless you can get off the ship by 7:30 am, A prebooked car service will be more reliable and less stress.

You have no option EXCEPT a prebooked taxi or car service unless you want to risk missing your flight to save a few £s.

If you look elsewhere on this particular forum you'll find a few possibilities
