Cheapest ferry depends on lots of factors!! You need to input your dates and see what they offer.

Ryde probably has most charity shops.

Ryde, Sandown and Shanklin will have what you want. The whole Island has a very good public footpath and bridle path network.

Have to agree with rawtalent. Bear in mind that the cheapest option may not always be the best for you. Do your homework first for the ferry booking and there are still some promo codes that work for a discount on TA.

Wherever you stay on the island it's small enough to commute easily.

Check Prices on Ferry crossings as they are real rip offs. Some people have booked two day trip returns twice to get cheapest tickets when travelling for period returns.

Red Funnel are more often cheaper than Wight Link but worth checking.

Bembridge, Shankin and Freshwater are my favourites - Ventnor if you can cope with hills.

Not recommended as you will invalidate your tickets.

The most expensive per mile ferries in the world. So if you were to buy a return ticket and miss your return travel what would be invalidated. Another person in the group could buy a day return from the Island accidently missing the return to the island within the allocated time zone. I suggest that such invalidation might be illegal in itself. If they refuse to accept you use the alternative feryy company - still cheaper.

The Ferry Companies are regularly criticised for ripping off customers and need to be challenged as often as possible. They are also destroying the Island's tourism. I know many people who love the Island but won't go due to over the top prices.
