Pet Friendly Pubs/B&B's ?

Looking for a few suggestions please for either

1) Pet Friendly pubs to visit for a bite to eat and a real ale.

2) Pet Friendly B&B's or Pub guest rooms please.

I am plannign a couple days visiting on my own with my cocker spaniel for some peace and quiet quality time on my own walking the mountains of the Lakes.

We spent a few days at the Royal Oak in Rosthwaite (Borrowdale) last year with our border collie. NIce small hotel with good food and dogs welcome.

We found that pubs and shops in Keswick were much more welcoming to dogs than other places we have been.

The Keswick pet shop (can't remember the name so google it) runs a website listing pet friendly B&Bs etc.

I think you’ll find that the majority of pubs etc in main towns and in more rural locations will let your dog in-I’ve never had a problem. As for B&B’s I’d say they’d be accommodating but can’t comment on any personally as I’m local.

Dog friendly B&B Beech Hill House and dog friendly pub next door (Derby Arms - also accommodation) at Witherslack in South Lake District. Also Community shop attached to pub and friendly locals. Plenty of walks from the front door or half an hour to central fells with loads to do in between. Grange-Over-Sands nearest town, with long Prom for walking dogs. 10 minutes from J36 on M6.

For a great B & B with a big garden and a friendly collie try Addingham View B & B in Gamblesby. Behind the village there are a network of cart tracks leading up to Hartside Cafe or along to Melmerby for the dog-friendly Shepherds Inn or The Fox Inn in Ousby. Also nearby are Lacy's Caves next to the River Eden and Long Meg & her Daughters - a druid stone circle. The food at Little Salkeld Watermill is excellent.

Thanks for the suggestions and help. I've looked into all of them. Location wise I looked for something central to mountain walks I haven't done yet. In the end I've booked:

2 nights at The Mortal Man in Troutbeck

and

2 nights at New House Farm near Lorton.

Both dog friendly and look superb from photos and previous reviews.

2 Locations give me great access to 2 different areas and set in nice locations for peace and quiet :)

I will consider the Royal Oak in the future at Rosthwaite. Location is second to none IMO and really is a beautiful part of the Lakes. One for the future.

For something different further south I will also consider the Beech Hill House B&B. Although on google maps the house is very close to that busy road. Is noise an issue? close to the coast also and wonder if any scenic places there to take the dog for a long walk?
