Visiting the Lake District for New Year

I am hoping to visit the Lake District for New Year and was just wondering if everywhere is open at this time? And also if there is usually anything on on New Years Eve? Thank you!

New year is a busy time in the Lakes, very few things will be closed, however its likely that a lot of B&B's, tearooms etc will close for a few weeks afterwards. We've spent the New year week there a few times and noticed that visitors tend to disappear off home either on new Years day or the day after.

Also, you may like to view "The Inn on the lake",Ullswater.Book room with a lake and mountain view.On the side of hotel is a ramblers bar and also good walking area.this is a very nice hotel, good food and drink.

Ambleside is also a good place to stay with pubs and restaurants.

If you decide to stay in Keswick, view HoweKeld bed and breakfast, its located between town centre and Lake Derwentwater.
