Queens Hotel parking

We're going to be staying at the Queens Hotel in Keswick and have noticed that there's a charge to park in their carpark. Is alternative parking available or is it advisable to book ahead?

There is no free parking close by although you can park in the streets between Penrith and Ambleside Roads.

All day and night parking in the car parks will cost you £7.50 ( ovenight part is 50p).

The Queens charge £8 per day/night so unless you are going to be out in the car most of the day everyday and dont mind the hassle you wont get it much cheaper.

You dont say when you are coming but if it is in July when the Convention is on I would definitely book the Queens carpark quickly !

Hi Ramsey,

if you are coming up midweek you could try parking on the road by St John's Church which is a good five minute walk to the hotel or in Stanger street which is about 3-4 mins way but you won't get a space at the weekend. The good thing about the Queen's car park is it is enclosed and secure.

Keith.

Car crime isnt really an issue in Keswick, if you are prepared to walk 5 mins then you wont have much problem parking for free somewhere off Penrith Road - I suggest Blencathra Street .

It really comes down to hassle and money.

One way to look at these issues is "if the room was £8 per night more ( but inc parking) would I have gone elsewhere".
