depends which part of the lakes and how much you are willing to spend. some top places are armathwaite hall hotel, borrowdale hotel ,borrowdale gates hotel the samling, sharrow bay a lot of the hotels around grassmere/windermere,keswick all do afternoon tea, so plenty of choices

Cannot beat Linthwaite House Windermere or of course the fabulous Gilpin !!!! I had a disappointing afternoon tea at the Inn on the Lake so cannot recommend apart from the wonderful viw.
