Static Caravan

Hi

Was wondering if anybody had any advice on peaceful sites for a static caravan. We live in Spain, but was thinking of buying either a static caravan or a motor home.

What we would like, is a peacful site, or at least a quiet plot, around an hour to an hour and a half drive away from the Wigan/Warrington area, where our relatives live.

If the site had no ammenities on, then near a small village or somewhere to go for something to eat and drink.

If it was a motor home then we would have to find somewhere for storage.

If anyone has any ideas we would be very grateful

Thankyou

Hi,

I can't help with the static, but this site stores motor homes..

The site is a 10 minute drive from Warrington, around 30 minutes from Wigan and it's 5 minutes from The M6.

Good luck!

If you are going to buy a static then you might be interested to know that they will becoming liable for 20% VAT . I think it applies from October. Is North Wales within your target area? An hour and a half from Wigan, down the M6 , M56 then A55

Plenty of sites there and some quiet ones too, away from Rhyll and Prestatyn.

Hi, yes North Wales ok,

Not sure if the sites down there are open 12 months of the year though.

As we live in Spain, the time that we get way is your winter time.

Think it's going to be difficult to find exactly what we want.

Thanks for that

How about South Lakeland Parks they have several close to where I live with static caravans of all shapes and sizes! The ones in the Lake District are lovely, either have lake access or in the hills - 1hr30 from Wigan/Warrington but they also have them in Lancashire and Yorkshire I think.

if you will not be using the van in summer then you may want a park that provides management services where owners can rent out their vans and the park handles the reception/cleaning etc, and consider what facilities there are in the park or nearby.

If you bought a motorcaravan or a towable van, a google for caravan storage wigan produces several results.

Eastham Hall Caravan Park in Lytham?

Ribby Hall Park in Wrea Green? (this one is a bit busier but has ammenities onsite)

Both are close to motorway links for you to get to Warrington area (Ribby Hall is right next to the M'way)

:)

Hi

We have stayed on there many times and have enjoyed it. Like the hotel as well.

It is a little too expensive for our needs, especially the yearly fees.

We are actually staying at Beacon Fell at Ribble Valley at the weekend, so can have a good look round the area and what is for sale.

Thanks for your advice.

Gail
