Lanyar Hotel

Dont book this hotel if you have pets as they say they are pet friendly and on arrival they were clearly not, making you feel very unwelcome. They dont allow pets in the public areas ie: bars as your pets may be a H & S issue because they could offend other guests, even in an empty bar the owner of this hotel wont allow a pet to stay in the bar. In bad weather one would be confined to a room which is no holiday or weekend break. A pet friendly hotel should accept all sizes etc of dogs into its bars and its the owners responsibility to control their pets.

The hotel was quoted to be 3* its at best only 2* damp beds, no thermostats on the showers so you have either a hot shower that burns or too cold, some rooms dont have brackets for the shower head and those that do are incorrectly fitted.

Cobwebs hang from ceilings, and in general the place is really run down.

One cannot ask for an iron or ironing board as the owner does not provide H & S advice for operating the said equipment. There are other far more serious H & S issues that could be mentioned about this hotel that need urgent attention. Even the service at breakfast is poor standard, a member of our family was hit on the head with a plate the waiter was removing from the table, his tie was constantly falling into our meals when he leaned across - all in all a hotel from hell we will not be rushing back to.

what angers me even more is we own a villa in Lanzarote and work hard at giving our guests good value for money. We charge less for our villa per night than this hotel and our villa is of 4* quality.

Hi Angry!

If you do mean the Lanayr Hotel at 73-75 Reads Avenue, then it's far better to copy and paste your posting into a proper review using the link below.

thehttp://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g186332-d1028301-Reviews-Lanayr_Hotel-Blackpool_Lancashire_England.html

Just scroll down to the bottom of the list of reviews and click on the link to create your own. It'll be very quick because you can just cut and paste what you've written already. Give it a title, rate the different aspects of the hotel and you're away!

The forum is to discuss other things, but a review of a hotel should always be posted there - more people will see it that way and it will easy to be find - here in the forums it's unlikely to be seen by anyone who might be planning to go there.

Also your ratings of the hotel will affect the overall rating on the hotel on this site so it'll make more of an impact. Also the owner is more likely to see it and then they can post a response if they wish.

Hi Angry024

Sorry to hear you had a disappointing stay in Blackpool. I think it may be the case that this actual accommodation is self classified as being 3*..which in reality means NOTHING !!

I would be tempted to go back to Superbreaks & demand my money back as they have sold you a break advertising 3* accommodation..when they can only guarantee this if it is nationally accredited With either Visit Britain or AA.

If you see star rated accommodation always check out it is NATIONALLY accredited..that way if you think it's below the standard you were expecting you can report them to either V/B or AA.
