Hotel suitable for families - Nov 08

Hiya, Looking to book a hotel in Liverpool for 2 adults and 7 yr old child in Nov. Any recommendations? We will probably be hiring a car, staying for 3 nights, sat/sun/mon. Will be taking in a match at Anfield so maybe somewhere nearby. Have been to Liverpool before with friends but first time travelling with a child. Absolutely love Liverpool can't wait to return.

Thanks for any suggestions.

You didn't mention a budget. At the lower end of the price range is Innkeepers Lodge Liverpool North. It is on Queens Drive which is really the Outer City Ring Road so well placed for wherever you want to get to.Approx 2 miles from Anfield. Book it early because it is always popular around match days. Carvery Restaurant next door ideal for families.

Are you flying in? If so, try the Crowne Plaza South Liverpool (formally the Marriott) - it's close to the airport, good transport links to the rest of the city and more importantly it's VERY child friendly - that's coming from personal experience of having stayed there for about 8 weeks due to an insurance job at our house!

OliversArmy. Wow how long ago did it cease to be the Marriott? We had our wedding and reception there. Lovely hotel and a good recommendation if you can afford it.So is the main Crowne Plaza still in town just North of Liver Buildings?

The premier inn at albert dock seems popular with families visiting for the football and it gets good reviews on here. Also the new Jurys Inn which is next to the dock can accomodate 3 in most of its rooms. Both these are in the mid price range. Acommodation close to the stadium will be of the bed and breakfast type.

All the hotels above are good and suitable...but a deal could be had at innkeepers lodge..

they have two..one in the north of the city, and one in the south...they have recent offers of 3 nights foir the price of 2..and if you have a car..they could well be ideal...they are not 5 star, but similar to travel / premier lodges

hi there

my advice would be to forget the city centre budget hotels ie travelodge, premier inn etc... these places are fine midweek, but are overun by stag/hen parties plus large groups of footy fans at the weekend(especially if LFC are at home) believe me you wont get a minutes sleep... if you can try the larger hotel chains raddison, crown plaza etc...if these are too pricey maybe mal maison or the hard days night hotel(approx £95 /120 per night.. you may get a deal if you tell them your stay includes sun /monday ... quiet nights for the hotels in the city centre.....if you need to stay budget try the premier inn albert dock.... 5mins from city centre located on the waterfront plenty of shops eateries etc ... this has excellent reviews on tripadvisor and is approx £65 per night... should be a lot less noise than the city center one.. book early.. always sells out when LFC play, as do all the other hotels good luck enjoy

I further idea would be the Staybridge Suites at Keel wharf which is next to Albert Dock. This a new and different concept to liverpool's accomodation offering which opened just a couple of months ago. Each suite includes a fitted and fully eqipped kitchen and lounge area. A complimentary breakfast is provided and there is also a laundry and gym within the complex. It has already received excellent reviews on here. I am not sure about prices but imagine it will be dearer than the budget hotels however in my view that may be worth it for for the added home comforts. Apparently the longer you stay the cheaper it becomes.
