Gomel v Liverpool 02/08/2012

Visiting Liverpool and staying at the Novotel in Hanover Street. Where can I take my 12 year old son to see the game on a live screen?

There are plenty of places nearby

Jamie Carragher has a couple of Sports Bars in Liverpool which might add a bit extra interest for your son

One on the ground floor in the LiverpoolONE shopping complex which is five mins from your hotel

And another one in Stanley Street about ten minutes away

qype.co.uk/place/240912-Cafe-Sports-Bar-Live…

There are plenty of pubs also dotted about , just look for the SKY banner outside.

Thanks very, very much. I just called and booked a table at the one in Stanley Street. A real treat!

Have you not considered actually going to the match ???

Pretty certain tickets are on general sale, also reduced ticket prices for this match

Should be quite easy getting tickets once on general sale

Just checked, tickets for adults £10-16, tickets for kids £5

Probaly cheaper than going to Carra's place, thats a first for Anfield

I was going to say the same as bigscouse, this is probably your best ever chance to see it for real, I'd really encourage you to take your son to see the real thing. ... and come on Gomel !!! (whoever they are :-)

I was going to suggest that initially but when I saw it as Gomel v Liverpool

I read it as an "away " match

But I agree if it s at Anfield and you are coming to visit Liverpool then what better than going to the stadium

Looks like I've jumped the gun

the home game is the 09.Aug.2012

the away leg (which is first) is on the 02.Aug.2012

which looks like when the O/P is in Liverpool

so it looks like its Carra's place after all

AAArrrgh, totally my bad, because the OP said "visiting Liverpool" I just assumed it was the one at Anfield on the 9th, but I think you are right probably the OP is referring to the one on 2nd, and they are away ?

Thanks everyone for trying to help. Good to know the people of Liverpool are so friendly and helpful.

We are indeed in Liverpool on 02/08/2012 on the day of the away match. We have a tour of Annfield in the morning and tickets for the Reds and the Blues at the Royal Court Theatre the night before so should be a good couple of days for my young Liverpool fan.

I hope that the weather is sunny and dry for you both.

If not please bear in mind that nearly all the Museums are free entrance

The recently opened Museum of Liverpool has something for everyone

It is down near the Pier Head.

Just aim for the Liver Buildings, the largest clock face in England, and you will find it.

Nearby is the Maritime Museum.

If fine the area around the Liver Builings and the Pier Head is fantastic place just for a stroll and see the waterfront and the Three Gaces.

You will have a great time
