how to get to Anfield stadium

Hi, I'm visiting Liverpool in 2wks time with my 2 teenage daughters who are really into football, and want to know how I go about visiting the stadiums via the cheapest way...I'm thinking since there are 3 of us, the bus option will be same as getting a cab, so does anyone know how much a cab fare costs to go to Anfield from Lime Street station, going via Everton fc and back again, (stopping at each for a few minutes for a couple of pics on the outside)?

And any info on buses going to/from Anfield (bus numbers, where the bus stops are) will be appreciated, thanks in advance!

A round trip in a taxi would cost about twenty pounds.

But why jut settle for a few minutes outside the stadium when you can take a tour inside?

You should expect to pay no more than £6 or £7 in a taxi, the two grounds are about 5 min journey from Lime St station. I would advise that if you intend to take a stadium tour of Anfield the best option is to book online with LFC as they are really busy this time of year, we were there 2 weeks ago. The stadium tour is fantastic for children, as they visit the dressing room, the managers seating area at the side of the pitch, the press room and also included is a tour of the museum were they can get a photo taken with the european cup. The Boot Room cafe next to the museum and also inside the stadium serves great food that is reasonably priced, I am sure you will have a great day has my two girls, 15 and 16, love it and have been many times.

If your looking at doing the LFC stadium tour, check out the official LFC web site, pretty certain they have had a recent offer on stadium tours during Monday-Wednesday doing a 2-4-1 offer

Will try and find link/offer later

The number 17 bus operated by Stagecoach takes you from Queen Square bus station to Anfield.

Should cost £2.00 one way for an adult, or just ask for a day ticket which costs £3.80 or £3.90.

Even better, just buy a Area C Saveaway ticket from the Merseytravel Info Centre at Queen Square bus station which will cost £3.60 for an adult or £2.10 for a child up to 15.

After getting the 17 to Anfield you can then walk down to Goodison Park and then get the 26 back into the city centre, still using the Saveaway ticket.

P.S. that's the 27, not the 26, that takes you back into the city.
