Need help with Liverpool vs. Everton Nov. 23rd

We have tickets, now we need information about getting to Goodison in Liverpool from London and then back after the game. Also, any advice about places to eat before heading back? Thanks for the help!!

Liverpool is very compact

Use the taxi rank from inside the station

The Soccerbus goes from city centre to Goodison Park direct

Local buses go passed the station entrance.

No problem just ask at the station

As for something to eat there areTapas Bars, Italian Restaurant, Curry House all within a few hundred yards from the station .

Let us know what you like to eat and there will be a restaurant to suit nearby.

For the train to Liverpool, there are a few websites you can check. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ is the general National Rail enquiries site which is useful for timetables. You can also purchase tickets on the likes of:

You can also purchase them direct from the rail operators. Virgin Rail (http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/) operate the direct trains from London. The longer you leave it before booking tickets the more you are likely to pay. I believe £77.30 is the maximum you will have to pay for a return ticket though - this is the off-peak return fare when buying on the day.

All trains to Liverpool are from Euston station in London.

Once at Lime Street, there are taxi ranks on each side - one to your left as you leave the platform and one at the other head if you head to your right.

The Soccerbus does not go from the City Centre, it goes from Sandhills train station. To get there you would need to walk from Lime Street Station to Central Station which is about five minutes walk away. You would need to get a train bound to Southport/Kirkby/Ormskirk and get off at the second station. Your train ticket would get you access to the Soccerbus. Another option is to stay on that train an extra stop and get off at Kirkdale and follow the crowds. It is about a 15 minute walk from there or less if you are a quick walker.

There are buses direct from Queen Square bus station which is a stone's throw from Lime Street. You would need the 19. 20 or 21.

It would only be about £7-8 in a black cab so I would recommend this for ease unless you are on a tight budget but it may even work out cheaper if there are a few of you.

On the way back, you are probably best hailing a cab on County Road (the main road close to Goodison) though it will no doubt be busy directly after the match.
