1. Re: sunday night

As you know, you're on the doorstep of Mathew Street where there are several pubs and clubs. It's still quite lively along there in the afternoon and early evening, but not sure about late evening.

Local DJ and Celebrity Pete Price does a cabaret/karaoke show at the Grapes on Mathew Street from about 2pm onwards, and there's lives bands and singers at the Cavern Club and Cavern Pub all afternoon. Entry into the Cavern Club is £2 after 2pm and and £4 after 8pm.

On the day you are visiting there's the "Sunday with the Mersey Beatles" show from 8.30pm. If you book tickets in advance from the Cavern Club website it will only cost £3 instead of £4 for this show.

But if the Beatles isn't your thing then you could head to the Vines "Big House" on Lime Street. It's about a 10 minute walk from Mathew Street. Every Sunday afternoon and late into the night they have live bands, singers, cabaret and karaoke.

There's a few other pubs around the corner on Great Charlotte Street - Smokey Mo's, Tess Riley's, and the Richard J Blackler Wetherspoons.

On Ranlagh Street - The Midland, the Globe, Central Hotel, and further down on Hanover Street is the Empire, O'Neills and the Abbey.

There's another Smokey Mo's at the bottom of Mount Pleasant which is on the other side of the Adelphi Hotel next to the Vines "Big House". They have karaoke and live music on Sunday nights: smokiemosliverpool.co.uk/events-mount-pleasa…

If you read the reviews of the Vines "Big House" you will see how popular it is. Lots of people still rave about the place: tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186337-…
