Queens Square is a very central area, it's where the main bus station and the transport office is. It's a pedestrianised area and has lots of cafe's and pubs in and nearby.

Weatherspoons opposite Lime St station is central to most places, and easy to get to.

Matthew Street is a good place to meet. Lots of bars and clubs in the area. Try the Grapes for a traditional quiet ish pub where you can talk when you meet. For louder and livelier: Edwards Bar or Revolution. When I took an American friend to Matthew St he couldn't believe it was just an ordinary friday night - he thought it must be 'Mardi Gras'!

Perhaps the 'posh' people in the Raddison would prefer somewhere a bit more upmarket like the Living Room in Victoria Street? News bar on Water St is a good place too though slightly younger (don't know your ages)

Good food to be had too in maybe:

La Vina, North John St (Sp)

Piccolino, Cook Street (It)

Sapporo, Duke St (Jap)

Sultans Palace, Victoria St (Ind)

Mandarin / Shangrila, Victoria St (Ch)

Advisable to book first though.

Get some sightseeing done too. Enjoy!

depends what time you intend on meeting up.... if its say before 10pm some of the above sugestions are fine,if any later you may lose each other as the bars will start to fill up especially on sat night.....i would maybe meet at the raddison hotel bar, which is nice...you can walk to some bars in 5mins from there( newz bar )&victoria street /mathew street within 10min. enjoy!!!
