Hair salon?

My 18 yr old daughter and I will be in London in two weeks. I have been thinking of getting my hair cut and styled while there. I want a great cut, but want to keep the cost below $100. I'm staying in Bloomsbury, so everywhere is pretty close. Any suggestions? We also plan on spending all day Sunday at the Camden markets. Any comments on this? Anywhere particular for an early evening meal / entertainment there? Thanks a bunch!

This is probably unrealistic. I pay £42 +tip for a mens cut so for womens at any place decent will be higher.

Maybe consider the Aveda Institue on High Holborn (100yds from the top of Drury Lane/Shaftsbury Ave), you can easilly walk there from Bloomsbury, and is only a 5 mins walk from Neals Yard/Covent Garden.

You can probably do this within your budget, but it all depends on what level of stylist you want to do the cut (senior stylist or Jnr etc)

(its a 6 page list & includes prices)

Its really nice, very trendy there, all glass frontage ground and first floor, buzzy place full of young trendies, has a nice coffee shop and beauty treatments spa, as well as the shop where you can buy the Aveda range of cosmetics etc.

I got my hair cut by a very good senior stylist at a salon called Vision which is around Brick Lane/Spitalfields Market area. The cost for a cut & blow dry was £43. Very good hairdresser and very hip salon. I agree though that if you want a fashion forward salon (ie you want more than just a trim), in a central location then you are going to be looking at more than $100.

Can recommend a salon just outside Paddington Station (Craven Rd). I believe the cost was around £30. Mr. Krendal has a fabulous personality and works efficiently. I think the salon is now called simply "Hair."

Another option would be the Vidal Sassoon in Whiteley's shopping mall. Or for more atmosphere, there's one in The City.
