Severe disruption?

Our flight arrives in LHR at 9am and our final destination is County Hall. Piccadilly Libe severe disruption indicated on citymapper with 66-67 min travel time.

We have 2/2 kids and off peak Heathrow Express would be 30 pounds and certainly extra time to get to final destination.

Thoughts on best approach?

What date are we talking about?

Do you mean there's scheduled engineering work?

It is apparently due to "operational difficulties" (could be signals problem, for example) so the problem may have been resolved by the time you clear immigration.

If the disruption is still happening when you arrive then there is an alternative route to Waterloo for County Hall. You will need Oyster cards or contactless as it involves a bus. And children aged 5-10 will need a ticket for the National Rail train journey.

Take a bus to Feltham Station. From Central Bus station (serving T2/3) it's the 285 and from T4 and T5 it's the 490. The bus stops right in front of the ticket office, and you pass through the barriers onto the London bound platform. On a Sunday the journey time is 39-48 minutes to Waterloo. There is no engineering work today on the Feltham to Waterloo line.

"Now a good service so you will be fine."

=======

Good news.

And remember that the Piccadilly line now operates the Night Tube on Fri/Sat and Sat/Sun through the night. So the severe disruption warnings overnight on those days could just apply to the through the night services, which are operated by fewer staff. Of course that's a reminder to not totally trust the Night Tube schedules and to have a Plan B.
