Which airport?

If Heathrow:

May prebook a car and visit Windsor for a walk about.

There's no public transport on Christmas Day. Moreover there's nothing really to do in London on Christmas Day. You're likely best on this occasion to stay in the airport.

<<It will be Christmas Day>> wow - that's a key factor.

Please can you give more specific info - these are also key factors -

Which London airport do you arrive at, and what it the exact flight arrival time ?

From which London airport do you depart and what's the exact departure time? (I ask as some people fly into Heathrow and out of Gatwick, unaware of the issues involved).

Is it a true-through-connection on "one" through-ticket? Or have you bought separate flights in and out ?

If it's separate flight bookings, will you have hold luggage or just carry-on ?

It would have been harder to pick a worse day or a worse amount of time!

The Sofitel in T5 does an acceptable afternoon tea, also has a decent sports bar and a nice spa. Standard London prices for all. If you choose to spend your time at Heathrow, it is where I'd head for (but I would double check that the facilities you're interested in are open on 25/12).
