Use the website design my night, that will help. Southbank will be good to see fireworks, but a lot of clubs will be sold out for NYE parties.

Cannon St might be but there may be barriers up. Tower Bridge no - too far round a bend in the river; Parliament Hill too far away to bother IMO though I'm sure there'll be the usual suspects who turn up there to be disappointed and moan about it afterwards:)

If you wanna stand on Lambeth bridge halfway across or Vauxhall bridge, you'll see the fireworks....I live there and it's an ideal spot if you haven't got tickets to the gates areas.

Normally it would be Westminster (but that will either be closed or way overcrowded) or Vauxhall, a journey that would involve two changes. Having said that you might, depending on where in Hounslow you are staying, be better advised to take a Southern train from Hounslow to Vauxhall and walk across that bridge and then right towards Westminster.

You would though have to take a tube back.

Check which tube stations near the fireworks are open and at what times. Some in the vicinity close.

If you are going directly to the fireworks I think the suggestion in post 26 is your best option, overground train from Hounslow to Vauxhall.

For your return I think a District line train west to Hammersmith and a cross platform change to the Piccadilly line or direct from a Piccadilly line station.
