Fast-track to attractions in London

Any advice on the most reliable websites or vendors for fast-track tickets to attractions in London? I were looking into the London Pass, but it's not clear at which attractions the fast-track feature can be used. We also don't want to rush around too much and take our time, so the London Pass might not be the best option. Thanks!

And it’s reported that sometimes the queue for security checks is longer than the queue for tickets so paying for fast track may be frustrating.

Much better to decide what you actually want to see rather than taking what's in offer - then do the maths on whether you pay for each or buy a pass. There are even significant sites that are free such as the various world-class museums.

My understanding is that the London Pass is probably a waste of money, bearing in mind:

- the number of attractions that have no entry charge, and

- the range of cheaper transport ticket options available by buying directly from TfL as those of us who live here do.

If you want to be sure to avoid queues, get there for opening time. That's certainly my experience for the Tower of London. I'm not sure what other places have particularly long queues at any time, nor whether some pre-purchased ticket or pass gets you in any quicker: my assumption is not.

What attractions do you want to see? There's no charge for the major museums and galleries

<<London Pass, but it's not clear at which attractions the fast-track feature can be used>> do NOT buy the LP solely based on that aspect (sometimes termed skip-the-line). It's slightly misleading marketing blurb.

In almost all places the wait for buying tickets on the day is minimal. The queues are for security checks and "nobody" skips those.

And bear in mind that most museums & galleries are free to enter to see the main exhibits.

(M Tussauds is an exception whereby there "can" be long queues on the day, perhaps London Eye also; I've not done either in recent years).

You mentioned "we"

Have you researched 2FOR1 entry on these forums; that is usually the "best" cost saving (even if you have to buy cheap decoy train tickets as well, research those also)

So why the interest in Fast Track which might only save a few minutes anyway (before the security queues) ?

Rushing around is exactly what most people do when they have a London Pass, as they try to recoup the value from what is a considerable outlay.

There are only 6 attractions that have fast pass with the London Pass:

Tower Bridge Exhibition

St. Paul's Cathedral

Hampton Court Palace

London Zoo

London Bridge Experience

Kew Gardens

None of these have any queues to speak of, and as mentioned, you will still need to passthrough security.

The London Eye can move 800 passengers in a single rotation, so while its queue may appear long, it is constantly moving, and you most likely won't wait more than 20 minutes, max.

Also, if you are at all tempted by the London Pass, which is not held in high regard on this site, bear in mind that they have a purse value--if you hop in and out of numerous attractions on a single day, or even over two days, and exceed this value, your pass will no longer work. Admittedly, you'd have to be visiting and revisiting quite a few sites to do this, but we have seen the occasional visitor who wanted to get the maximum value for the pass that did hit that cap.

Look into the 2-4-1 options, which should be much cheaper.

The fast track feature is not very good in my opinion, though it does attract people who aren't aware that queues to get into attractions in London are not the major issue that they can be in some cities.
