London Trip in November need advise

We are going to London with our two children in November and was wondering if anyone can suggest a good hotel. We will be arriving at Gatwick and seeing the attractions. First trip so I need convenience to/from the airport and the main attractions. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Airport convenience will be easy, considering the tube/train/taxi availability. Could you tell us a bit about your preferred price range or the attractions you consider "must-sees"? Makes it much more likely you'll get something helpful...

In the meantime, take a look at 22 Jermyn Street. We were there 2 years ago and it's super friendly, well located, and kid-friendly.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

First of all trains from Gatwick on the fast Gatwick Express and Southern Trains arrive in Victoria whilst there is also a route run by First Capital Connect that goes through the financial area (known as the City with a capital C) to Kings Cross. All this means that pretty much all of London is reachable from Gatwick in about an hour.

You may prefer to stay in the Victoria area however, It is quite central and there is a massive range of accommodation within a ten minute walk of the station ranging from 5 star luxury to no star hovels. To suggest places though we really really need an idea of your actual budget (please don't just say clean and comfortable!) and what you need. For example are your children below 16 and you are happy for one family room or do they need their own space? If the later is the case then you might want to consider an apartment.

Do also use the word search facility and the hotels reviews section and then maybe come back here with a couple of options and ask us for comparisons.

Don't miss the Lord Mayor's show on the 11th

If you can get a room at the front The Club Quarters St Pauls, will give superb views and be handy for Gatwick.

We will be there for five days. Prefer one room in a three to four star hotel. Budget about $150-200 a night. Attractions would be the Buckingham Palace, The London Bridge, Parliament, Changing of the guards, etc.

If the kids are under 16 then I would agree with Lee and suggest The Premier Travel Inn County Hall. Great location.

$200 sadly doesn't get you a lot in London but you could also look at the PTI Kensington and the B&B Belgravia which has a couple of family rooms and is on a nice street close to Victoria station.
