There's a branch of Giraffe at the east end of Kensington High Street, more or less across the road from the Royal Garden Hotel. There are a handful of cafes and pizza / pasta places along the High Street as well. Stick & Bowl, near Giraffe, is a little place that's been serving reasonable Chinese food for many years, more of a snacky place than resto.

At that end of Ken High Street, I like La Strada, an Italian place that's good for pasta and pizza. There's also a Wagamama for vaguely oriental noodle dishes. Everyone sits at big long tables, it can be noisy, but it's quick and fun.

In the hall itself is the Cafe Consort, opens at 8 or 9 AM and throughout the day. Standard fare and reasonable prices. Two other restaurants are open two hours before performances and are more upscale. We dined at the newly openend Coda prior to a Christmas performance a month ago. Really great menu, expensive but well worth it. You don't have to be attending a performance in order to eat there.

Tip--all three eateries hold back 20% of their tables to accommodate walk-ins for evening dining if you don't have reservations. Check out their website www.royalalberthall.com.

Hugos Brasserie on the Goethe Institute website. Informal, excellent food.

This is definitely not the best area for restaurants IMO, unless you go vey upmarket.

There is a reasonable Lebanese place in the High Street that may make a change, but I can't remember name. It's about 400 yds from A.H.

Last time I went to A.H. we used a taxi, dining in west end.
