What's with all the annoying links within the threads now?

I'm sure it's supposed to be helpful, but it actually makes the posts harder to read. Down with them. They must go.

It would be useful, if when somone mentioned a place of interest in a city forum, it gave the link to their web-site or to reviews. But just linking every city seems too much.

It should be limited to interest on that forum only, TALF should have London links only IMO

My favourite hyperlinks so far are when a poster asked about an Electric train service in Europe, and someone else mentioned the Sound of Music.

As they can now work with links, it would be nice if they put URLs to off-site recommendations in as well.

I mean when we put in an URL - it makes a link.

If you post your suggestions to the thread below, there's a better chance someone from TA will read it.

My favourite so far is when Adam Hornets wrote "Hope that helps." and it automatically linked to the suburb of Hope in Birmingham. They are hyperlinking to words beginning with a capital letter but perhaps they should never do so to the first word in a sentence.

However, glitches aside, I think it could be a benefit to people using this site with little knowledge of London. It's only going to be seriously annoying to people using this site continuously (and maybe we shouldn't).

jdbri's suggestion is an excellent one.

So we're incapable of writing a place name or subject in the search box and using that facility? I find it very distracting.

Judging by the amount of near identical questions we get here in any given week I'd say that's a fair enough assessment. ;-)
