I was due for a vacation in London the last week of July...

I'm sure I'd reschedule, but I just wonder if things will be ok by then. I am sure they don't want tourists in the way now.

Any thoughts?

Things are apparently okay now. My family leaves on the 26th for our trip. Why cancel?

By the last of week of July (sooner, in fact) London will be back to normal. Don't let the terrorists win.

I am heading to London next Wednesday for a week and won't be cancelling. Given the heightened security in London now it's likely one of the safest places you can be. Shame what happened...

Never mind last week of July - things will be OK by next Monday. The authorities in London are trained to deal with such emergencies and Londoners put their trust in them, so that they can carry on their daily lives. Tonight I learnt that, apart from the affected tube stations, London transport will be up and running tomorrow. I see no reason to postpone your trip and am sure you will receive an especially warm welcome.

I'm flying to LHR a week Saturday, and have NO intention of missing that flight.

I think it's important to continue with plans as normal, whenever practical.

I flew to London from NYC a week & a half after 9/11. My family wanted me to cancel, especially since I was travelling alone. As mentioned, I didn't.

It seems to me that we have to carry on life as usual. If the city of London requests those w/o priority business to cancel their visits, then by all means do so. I highly doubt this will be the case, however, and urge you to go ahead w/your holiday as planned.

We're leaving from Chicago tomorrow. It never (really) crossed our minds to cancel our trip.
