Cost of Internet

Hi We will been staying in Bloomsbury the beginning of

June. Does anyone know what internet costs these days?

Many Libraries offer it for free don't they? Is there a public library in Bloombury. Any help would be appreciated. Oh ya. If I wanted to taste Pimm's

could I just order it in the pub? Thanx again.

The libraries in the City of Westminster have free internet access for members of the library. There are a great many internet cafes in London, though, and a handful of them in the Bloomsbury area offer access for 50p for half an hour.

There is one 24 hour cafe on New Oxford Street, quite near the junction of Bloomsbury Street, near bus stop X. There are a great many computers in the shop, but it has some of the most uncomfortable seating in London - I've never been able to stay for more than 30 minutes.

A lot of internet cafes are up or down stairs rather than at street level; you'll see a wee sign at a door and nothing else, so do look closely. With a bit of shopping around, you shouldn't have to pay more than a pound an hour. There is one cafe in Earl's Court where you can stay as long as you like for a pound.

If you want a glass of Pimm's, all you need do is ask the barman nicely, and a glass of the drink you shall receive. You can also find tins of it ready made at grocery stores - the tins are about the same size as tinned Red Bull.

Hey there is a internet cafe near Earls Court tube that does internet for 2 hours for £1 - simply exit Earls court tube on earls court rd side and go up the road opposite the station entrance.

Its just on the right after a hairdressers.

Otherwise, there are machines at Hammersmith Station, Whiteleys in Bayswater, and the mall at High St. Kensignton that does internet for free - handy if you only want to check your email.

The internet cafe that orientfan mentions is the Internet Lounge on Earl's Court Gardens, just past the Courtfield pub and a barber shop / hairdressers. The same company which operates that cafe has another wee one on Earl's Court Road, next to the Baker's Oven. It's upstairs, a bit crowded, but has the advantage of charging 50p for 30 minutes of computer time.
