Have a look at theartgirl's list of FAQs. There are links to information about afternoon tea plus reviews of a number of teas that TALFers have attended.

Near the Guoman, but on the south bank of the Thames (there are a number of buses going across the river) try tea at the Tate Modern, Shipp's Tea Rooms on Park Street or at the Bramah Museum of Tea and Coffee on Southwark Street.

Just off Trafalgar Square, the Cafe in the Crypt at St Martin in the Fields church offers a great set tea for less than £6. If you would like to have just a cup of tea and a scone with jam and cream, visit the Wolseley on Piccadilly.

An addendum to TP's post - I'm not sure of the status of the Bramah Museum of Tea & Coffee since Mr. Bramah died last year. The website is back up, but the info hasn't been updated, and I haven't been in that part of London recently to check it out (last time I tried ringing, there was only voice mail). Perhaps someone on the forum knows if it's still open. Otherwise, contact them before making a journey there:

I have emailed them two weeks ago, seeing that the website was in the air again. Got no answer.
