Hi Bri, I there is no speed limit past a cetain point in the river. I remember on Top Gear that Mr Clarkson was doing around 70mph at one point past Canary Warf whilst racing to City Airport

The 12 knots speed limit applies through the central London bridges and also in the area near Greenwich Pier.

In ths case, JD should of taken his own advise and used his best friend google to check his facts :)

I did Google - where did you think I got the 12 knots from! I just don't understand the river, I guess.

All you need to understand is where Tower Bridge is and where Greenwich pier is and realise that between these 2 spots the 12 knot speed limit doesn't apply. Surely after all your years of living in London even you must know there's a few miles between these 2 spots or is it that you didn't read the websites you found via google in enough detail before posting.

Sorry if it seems like I'm having a go but I'm in that mood tonight!!!

Well considering you've been to the O2 in North Greenwich to see the Tutankhamun exhibition I'm sure you have a very good idea of where Greenwich is located whether or not you've been on the river!!.

It would have been Thames Rib Voyages

And you go very sedately up until Tower Bridge and then they let it go. Best bit is in the front when they take the fast turn at Canary Wharf.
