The webpage for the Mela is:

I've been to the last couple, and had a good time. there are a number of food outlets, so it's probably a good place to go if you're unsure of the cuisine.

The nearest tube to Gunnersbury Park is Acton Town, on the District & Picadilly lines.

I think there is a mix up here!

Does the original query relate to the Mela restaurant?

If so, haven't been there, but it sounds excellent.

The London Mela is, as rightly stated, a major event taking place this Sunday in Gunnersbury Park. (Mela loosley translates, I think as 'meeting'). It's a blast. But it does get very, very crowded, don't even think of taking the car if you're interested.

Is this the restaurant you mean: http://www.melarestaurant.co.uk/?

It's in Shaftesbury Ave which is very central. I haven't eaten there myself. If you search the forum you will find many discussions of good Indian restaurants. Are you looking for an upmarket or budget experience? For upmarket I would recommend Veeraswamy in Regent St, Cinnamon Club in Great Smith Street (Westminster) or Amaya, Motcomb St (Knightsbridge). For a good budget Indian, I would recommend Chutneys in Drummond Street (Euston) - it's vegetarian.

Mela restaurant is very good. Haven't been for a year or so, but loads of excellent dishes to choose from. Not your run-of-the-mill Indian, but not exhorbitant either, like some with big reputations.

I am just back from Mela and it was delicious. Everything was perfect: food, service and ambiance. The waiters make us feel like we were VIP. I recommand this place.
