Cath,

If the weather's nice then walk it. You get some great views walking along the river on either side of the Thames. The South offers the best views of St Paul's and the City and also is traffic free altough the north side is traffic free from Blackfriars Bridge to Tower Bridge.

If you do decide to get the tube, then get the district or circle line to Monument and then walk over London Bridge from where you'll see HMS Belfast. There are steps at the end of the bridge leading down to the Thames path which will take you to HMS Belfast.

We enjoyed the walk from the Tower Hill station to the Tate Modern (passing the HMS Belfast on the way) even in a drizzle-the scenery made up for the less-than-perfect weather, but be sure to wear the right shoes and outerwear so you don't focus on your soaked socks instead.
