Which days of the week. What time will you arrive/leave and where will you be staying?

You can expect to pay up to £30.00+ a day to park in a car park. Although being Xmas holidays THERE MIGHT NOT BE the dreaded congestion charge, parking restrictions will still apply. It should be announced this week regarding congestion charge over the holiday.

Where are you staying? Having a car in Central London is more trouble than it is worth.

Alternatively leave the car just outside of London, but again you have to be careful which street as many have restricted hours of parking.

£6.50 per day on Saturdays and Sundays only is the charge at the Barbican Centre car park in Beech Street, so that would cost you £13. I've just walked down through the rain to check this - you see the things we do for you? Barbican underground station is at the end of Beech Street. It's not open to the public on weekdays.

If yu are considering parking at a tube station, bear in mind that there will be engineering works between Christmas and New Year. Check at tfl.gov.uk/tfl/… (for example)

Forgot to say ... there's no congestion charge between Christmas and New Year, and the roads are largely empty (except for the main shopping streets, which are usually thronged with peds, but who knows this year).

Clarifying my above post, both the Barbican Centre car park and Barbican underground station at the end of Beech Street will be open while you're in London.

where are you staying? It's possible to leave a car on the outskirts but honestly if you are from the Highlands it's better to take a train and leave the car behind.

Why's that?

And, are the trains they need running on the days they are travelling?

Thanks for the advice.

I think I will go for the Barbican Car park.

I am from the Highlands, but as it is a fully expensed Company car it makes more sense than the train.

We are going to Rugby either side of the trip too.

Cheers
