What to do in London on a Tuesday evening?

Hi

Does anyone know anything fun to do in London on a Tuesday evening. I am working there once a week and would like to make the most of things. Most museums and art galleries seem to be shut by 6pm and I finish work in Stratford at 5.30pm!

Thanks!

All the theatres are open on Tuesday evenings so you'll have the pick of any show in London. The link below will give you details of the current shows:

Also you could go on a walk with the London Walk co. The link below will give details of their walks on Tuesday evenings:

From Stratford you are not to far from the O2 arena (the old DOME) which has various shows on and also has a range of bar/food places.

Also close by is Canary Wharf with lots of bars shops etc.

The above is for times when you are not doing the culture bit and just fancy an evening out.

From Stratford it is just a question of taking the Central Line westwards.

Near Liverpool Street the wide range of new restarants and bars in Spitalfields will be open and full of City workers. Further on a lot of the Oxford Street shops are open late. For example, John Lewis is open to 8 pm.

The Broadgate Centre at Liverpool Street Station has iceskating until March.

Plays are a great idea and Covent Garden shops, restaurants and pubs keep going, as do the buskers who have had to audition for their places.

Small galleries around Hoxton may be open late. Pick up the current cyear's opy of the Time Out Directory, it is a gold mine of useful information.

The marvellous Jo King, founder of the London School Of Striptease, runs pole dancing and burlesque classes at danceworks (http://www.danceworks.co.uk) on Tuesdays. dancwworks is near Bond Street tube stations, easily reached on the Central line from Stratford.
