What do you mean by 'good'? Fine dining or value-for-money? Do you have cuisines you particularly like or wish to avoid? Do you have a budget in mind?

Sorry for the questions, but there are *so* many restaurants to choose from it helps to whittle them down.

There is a pretty good restaurant right there in the hotel actually.... Asia De Cuba. It's fusion food which is not to everyone's taste but I've always enjoyed it.

Otherwise more info about what you want will secure better replies...

Asia de Cuba is very nice, but also very expensive. So if you're feeling flush you could well just eat there.

Wahaca is just round the corner from you. It's a reasonably priced very funky Mexican place. But try to go outside of peak hours if you don't want to have to wait 45mins for a table. It gets VERY busy, and you can't reserve a table there.

Alternatively you're in theatreland and there will be lots of pre-post theatre deals going if you wanted to eat early or late. These are great value, about £15 for 3 courses from a set menu. One Aldwych and Cafe des Amis are two good options for this.

Johnstons Brasserie on The Strand.

Carluccios-is great too, if you spot one when your out and about.

Likewise so is Savoir Faire in Bloomsbury area.

Take a walk around for half an hour, your head will be spinning, this area has more restaurants than anyone could do in a lifetime. Apart from Covent Garden, also head up Neal Street.

For something a but different you could try Belgo Centraal in Earlham Street.

Last time I was there, we popped in a packed Crown at Seven Dials, for a swift pint. Standing by the door was the instantly recognisable frame of actor George Wendt, (Norm from Cheers). Everyone exiting the pub would say 'Hi Norm!' on the way out, to much amusement (apart from George). I asked him what it was like to be in a bar where everyone knew his name. He didn't laugh.
