London Walks

I was recommended this kind of sightseeing?

I would be most grateful if somebody could give me some clues.

Hi there,

Just above where you post, there's a box marked "search". Type in London Walks, and you'll get all the information you need.

Basically, you turn up at a London Walks start point, usually a Tube station, pay the guide and follow him/her round for a couple of hours.

London Walks (www.walks.com) are two-hour guided walks aroud different areas of London. You don't need to book ahead - you just show up at the appointed time at the appointed tube station, look for the guide holding up the LW brochures and pay your money.

All the walks are entertaining and they take you dow backstreets and alleyways that you would not see on your own. They tell you about the area, history, scandals, ghosts, etc... A very good value. We always try to do one or two when in London.

Some, like the Jack the Ripper tour are very, very popular and very crowded. Other walks will generally have smaller crowds. Just take a look through their online brochure and pick one or two that strikes your fancy - you can't really go wrong with any of them.
