We are arriving in London and staying at the Hotel comfort Inn out near Heathrow. We wish to go to Potters Bar from Heathrow to Potters Bar and believe thatw e take the train into Paddington and then catch a train out to Potters Bar. Is this correct and also when we change trains at Paddington if this is the correct departure point which platform should be go to for the train to Potters Bar. Your assistance would be appreciated.

Trains to Potters Bar go from London King's Cross, not London Paddington

Two options: Take the Piccadilly Line tube from Heathrow to King's Cross and change on to the overground train there (you will need another ticket)

Or catch the Heathrow Express or Heathrow Connect service to London Paddington, then change on to a Circle/Hammersmith Line tube to King's Cross, then change on to the overground train

The latter is possibly a little quicker, but also a bit more difficult (and slightly more costly) as it involves two changes and three types of service

If you are making the journey on a weekday, most of the trains to Potters Bar start at Moorgate rather than Kings Cross. So from Heathrow, I suggest catching the Piccadilly Line to Finsbury Park and changing there.
