Will be visiting London in October and have narrowed our search down to these two hotels. They both seem to be priced similarly, have the same amenitites, etc. Any local opinions?

My husband and I stayed at the K&K in 2006 and loved it! You can read our review of the hotel here on TA. I highly recommend it. The breakfast was great, the hotel is spotless and the proximity to the tube can't be beat.

Whatever you decide, have a fantastic trip!

Both are very good choices. I haven't had a look around the newly renovated Kensington yet but the recent reviews are very good and the location is possibly slightly better than the K&K being two tube stops nearer central london as well as within walking distance of the three great South Kensington museums. The restaurants in the immediate area also possibly offer more variety with less chain type places.
