Can anyone suggest some hotel chains that offer good deals on central London hotels? Names like Thistle and Best Western come to mind but any others would help. many thanks

Very basic but Travelodge could be another option although the Covent Garden one gets booked up very quickly.

Last month we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express London-Wimbledon-South for two nights. It is about a 30 minute underground ride from the central area of London, but it is right across from the tube station and the price was right (35 pounds per night for a family of 3).

The ultra cheap chains are Travelodge and easyHotel

The no frills budget hotels are Premier Inn, Mercure, Express Holiday Inn & Ibis

The traditional service chain hotels which tend to be very volatile and you can often pick up a bargain in a full service hotels are:

Novotel, Thistle, Guoman, Holiday Inn, Radisson, Days Inn, Park Inn, Citadines, Hilton

If you have a family, Marriott are normally very expensive but they often do family deals, 3 for 2 etc and their rooms are US size with 2 Kings size beds often available so you can get a family in one of their rooms and with a deal they can be competitive.

Hi I know you said central but we have just booked the Jury's Inn Heathrow for £39 per night for a triple room. Its only a couple of minutes walk from the tube that will take you straight in to central London in around 30-40 minutes.

GBP35 per night for a family of 3 is quite cheap , not bad a deal. But when I google their website (tripadvisor.co.uk/…CHECK_RATES_CONT), it stated the average price per night is GBP99.

If the 35 pound rate you are referring to is the one I posted,it is the "friends and family" rate which can be accessed through the following web site, ichotelsgroup.com/h/…

But, rooms have to be booked by September 30 and there are no refunds.

Ibis and Premier Inn are basic, but generally pretty reliable, clean, and good value.
