Choose the wine with care unless you have a bridging loan or very flush but

you'll have a great evening I'm sure :-)

For visitors worried about prices (and Le G can scare a Euro M.P's expense account) consider set lunch deals. I think they are still available at £48 for 3 courses, 1/2 bottle of wine, coffee and petit fours. They'll add service but for a restaurant with this pedigree it's a bargain!

Same applies to Wareing at The Berkeley - 'affordable' set lunches that give you a taste of fine dining without the mortgage.

Le G has had a set lunch for years now-in fact with the wine incl is better value than Wareing and one does not have to put up with the latters'gaudy carpet tho proba bly not his fault he has to put up with the carpet put in by Berkeley from which he rents the room. \;e G staff just that little bit more polished -marginally & no doubt according to taste.

,Lets hope W does not decide to go after a third Michelin star

not always profitable

Bon appetit to all

I don't think set lunch was ever withdrawn, currently £46.60.

3 courses, water, 1/2 bottle wine, coffee & petit fours.

Looking at Mick's bill - it looks even better value. :-)

<"2 bottles Chablis Montmain £114">

I've just coughed up a lung! Nice choice though, hope you enjoyed it.

Have a great time Choc, and my congratulations on your milestone. I was looking at going to Le Gavroche for my birthday soon, but I can't stretch to £150 a head... I've decided it'll be une soir gastronomique a l'Anglaise. In other words I'm off to Simpsons for some beef wellington. Bon soiree!

That was one of the cheaper ones at £57 a bottle. It was good though.

I think you bought too much Evian.

Was this between three of you?
