London Hotel, Not obscenely expensive, Not obscenely ugly

Hi!

I've spent the last 2 nights scouring expedia and hotels.com looking for a London hotel in a nice area (Shopping, Underground, Safe) that costs approx AUD$200 - 250 (£100 - 120)per night and that doesn't have a hideously ugly interior (I'm after modern and simple). I have come to the conclusion there aren't any in that price range that suit, which irks me no end. Can anyone suggest something that either meets my apparently lofty requirements or is perhaps slightly more expensive? Please don't make me trawl through a few hundred more hotels in a higher price bracket...have mercy!

Thanks!

One of the London Premier group might suit you. Try the rates at the Park Grand, Paddington. It's the newest and most modern hotel in the group. (One month old this Friday).

Si, marita, que bueno! base2stay has a rather trad exterior, as it's part of a refurbished terrace with a tasteful cream exterior, but all is modern and sleek inside. Earl's Court station is about a three minute walk away - nice.

The Hoxton Hotel may also suit your needs, an oasis of chic and cool on Great Eastern Street.

I suspect you might be able to get into Luna & Simone at that price.

The Holiday Inn London Regents Park, about a ten minute walk Oxford Street, may just be within your price range and has the kind of rooms you may be looking for.

Base2Stay would certainly be on my short list as would Hotel Indigo in Paddington and i wouldn't rule out the brilliantly located Premier Inn County Hall.

I haven't stayed there, so I can't vouch for it, but I noticed that Travelzoo is offering The Leonard hotel for £99 incl. VAT and breakfast. Recent reviews have been good.
