o2

Sorry for the silly question but I am curious… I keep hearing about this “O2” as a place to go… I looked at the website and from what I can tell it is a big shopping mall right? I am sure a nice one with nice places etc but wanted to make sure I wasn’t misunderstanding what it was….

Thanks

The O2 Arena is what used to be called the Millenium Dome - its a music concert/sport/bit of everything venue nowadays. It's definitely not a shopping mall, there are lots of restaurants and also occasional exhibitions but not worth a special trip to unless you're going to see a concert.

You might be thinking of the O2 Centre on Finchely Rd rather than the O2 arena in Greenwich which used to be called the Millenium Dome.

That makes sense… just seen it mentioned here a few times and you are right, that was the website I looked at and that is why I thought it was a shopping mall…. I was very confused when I looked at the other one too… thought it was the same place but I guess not… Either way doesn’t look like I am missing too much by not going…. Thanks for the info…. Got to love this site, how did people travel before it? :-)

O2 is to London what Madison Square Garden is to New York.
