Parking for Borough Market

Hi, driving to London on Saturday, main reason is to visit borough market, want the car as could not buy too much last time as travelling on the train.

Can somebody help with somewhere to park close buy, would like free if possible, but paying not a problem. Just want to be reasonably close by, walking across the bridge is again not a problem. I know there are NCP close by, are these the best options?

All help appreciated.

Borough Market's own site says that parking around the market is "extremely limited". There are a few meter bays in Thomas Street but you'd be very lucky to get one of those.

The nearest car park that I know of is the NCP at Snowsfields. (The entrance is actually in Kipling Street, just off Snowsfields.) It's about a third of a mile by foot from there to the market, through the Guys Hospital site. There are a lot of one-way streets in the area, and I advise planning your approach using a map that shows them, such as http://maps.google.co.uk (Just put

snowsfields se1

in the search box)

There is a car park in Southwark Street here

They have other Car Parks around London Bridge http://www.unioncarparks.co.uk/sites%202.html

There are phone numbers under some of them so you could call and see what your chances are of finding a space and how much they charge.

On Southwark Street about 400 yards from Borough Market there is an open air car park which costs about £5. As on the street meters cost some £4+ an hour it is a reasonable price.
