Bloomsbury questions and transportation to Southampton

We will be staying at the Bloomsbury Hotel for 2 days and would be interested in finding out about good pubs and restaurants near the hotel. Also, we will be traveling from Bloomsbury to Southampton and were interested in options on how to get there (train and private cab options).

What day will you be travelling to Southampton and at what time do you need to be there? Take it you are going on a cruise. Trains run direct to Southampton Central from Waterloo in around 75 mins. Probably taxi at both ends - you don't say how many of you are travelling.

Why do you have to be at Southampton at 11:00am - is it to board a ship or when the ship sails (for example) or is it some other reason.

And which date are you travelling as weekend travel can be subject to delays and diversions
