Tea/coffee house in London

Hi,

I'm going to London in October with my sister, mum and aunt. We have been to London several times but we have never looked for a place to buy tea and coffee. I have been to Fortum & Mason, I think its called that anyway, but I was hoping we could find something more independent with several makes? We would love to buy different teas to take home.

If you have any advice its greatly appreciated.

Twinings is the oldest shop in London never to have moved its location since 1706. If you look at the photo on this website of the statues over the door, they represent Indian teas and Chinese teas

^^ Good one that.

I use the Tea House in Covent Garden quite a lot. They do a Rooibos campfire blend that has whole bits of dried fruit and ginger in it, very nice it is.

In the more mainstream, Twinings on the Strand is well known and has a fairly good range.

And Whittards have branches all over London with some quite nice gifts, they do some very smart teapots and cups:

My choice of shops selling coffee beans was Angelucci's in Soho, but the tiny shop closed a few years ago and moved to East FInchley. Still worth the journey (or they will deliver) for their fine Mokital blend or their strong espresso beans; Kenya peaberry is a favourite of mine as well. www.angeluccicoffee.com
