Cost of taxi from Holiday Inn Express Slough to Heathrow

We are thinking of staying at the Holiday Inn Express that is right next to the Slough train station using Priority Club points. I know the location is fine for trains to central London and to Windsor, but we will be taking a cab to Heathrow. Does anyone have any idea what the cost of the cab would be? Thanks so much.

<This Holiday Inn Express is next to the Slough train station. Is there a direct train to Heathrow from there?>

No there isn't - which is exactly what the posts so far have been saying and indeed what OP said.

ellieca, there isn't a direct train to Heathrow from Slough but there are frequent trains to Hayes and Harlington where you can change onto a Heathrow Connect train. It's just 5 minutes from Hayes and Harlington to the airport.

Thanks so much for the transfer information. Will it be too cumbersome with luggage in your opinion? We will each have one large wheeled suitcase and also a small carry on.

Hopefully someone will know for sure but you will probably have one flight of stairs up from the eastbound platform and another down to the westbound platform from where the Connect service departs for Heathrow. Only you can know whether you and your luggage can cope with stairs.

this week I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Termnal 5 (as they seem to call it even though it is in Slough?) The shuttle bus was £7 for a return trip and it runs every 30 minutes from T5 (BA Terminal) not sure of cost or frequency for other terminals but assume it is probably the same.

It's ten mins from Hayes to T1; 20 mins to T5. Trains from Hayes to Heathrow are only every half hour, and don't necessarily slot in well with the connection from Slough. So it can easily be almost an hour from Slough to T5.

There's no lift between platforms at Hayes: you have to carry your cases up 20-odd steps from the eastbound platform and back down again to gthe westbound.

Though a lot pricier, it's a great deal more comfortable - and often quicker - to get a fast train from Slough to Paddington, then the Heathrow Express to the airport

You might be better off using the Holiday Inn Aeriel and use the free busses to and from the airport.
